This page will be used to show the patterns of migration for many Scots and a number of Lindsays leaving Scotland and going to various parts of the world. An attempt will be made to establish some of the reasons for the exodus of so many people from their homeland.

The three charts deal with the departure of thousands of Lowland Scots to the Plantation of Ulster, Ireland in the 17th century and eventually two hundred thousand strong of these Scotch-Irish to the American colonies in the 18th century.

The graphics depict the exodus of approximately 9500 individuals who departed British shores for the Western Hemisphere between December 1773 and March 1776.
